We are delighted at Boatshed Cornwall to list this Golant Gaffer. Designed and built by the infamous Roger Dongray (Cornish Crabber) for his own use, it is believed. This is the first gaffer to be built from the drawing board and could be referred to as a prototype. This US manufacturer has been in business for about 150 years and this example, whilst some twenty years old, is as good as any. We first set eyes on this fine boat whilst it was being stored ashore for the winter. Subsequently, this Chris-Craft has returned to her summer mooring as can be seen in the photos. Twisters are considered by some to be an absolute classic long keel cruiser. First built all in wood and the later ones all composite. This Cobra 1050 was moulded by Cobra Yachts UK and fitted out in a boatyard near Golant, Fowey where, believe it or not, she has remained throughout her entire life.
